Dr James H. Kim
BDS (Otago), DClinDent(Perio), FRACDS(Perio)
Dr Kim graduated with his Bachelor of Dental Surgery at the University of Otago, New Zealand in 1997. He practiced general dentistry in New Zealand for 8 years, during this time he also spent 1 year at the University of California Los Angeles (UCLA) to attain a certificate of Advanced Implant Dentistry in 2003.
Dr Kim has also volunteered in a dental clinic in Africa for 3 months to provide free dental care for impoverished children and adults. He has also travelled with a group to Cambodia for several weeks to visit orphanages in Phnom Penh, where they provided oral health education to the children and distributed basic dental resources.
He was accepted into his specialist Periodontology programme in New Zealand in 2005 where he also created and led the Student Dental Specialists’ Association. He was the representative for the dental post-graduate body, where he liaised with University Faculty and the student body as well as organizing numerous social events. In 2008, Dr Kim attained his Doctorate of Clinical Dentistry in Periodontology and was admitted as a Fellow of the Royal Australasian College of Dental Surgeons in the specialist stream of Periodontics.
Dr Kim worked as a periodontist in New Zealand for a year before relocating to Australia and establishing himself in the Wollongong and Illawarra area as well as Chatswood in Sydney. He has also been involved in mentoring general dentists in implant surgery and has presented numerous lectures on periodontics and implants both locally and interstate.
Dr Kim is a Fellow of the International Team for Implantology (ITI), Fellow of the Royal Australasian College of Dental Surgeons (FRACDS), Member of the Australia and New Zealand Academy of Periodontists (ANZAP), Member of Australian Dental Association (ADA).
Dr Jack Lin
BDS (Otago), DClinDent (Endo), MRACDS (Endo)
Dr Jack Lin graduated from University of Otago with a Bachelor of Dental Surgery in year 1998. He practiced in Rockhampton Hospital Dental Department (QLD) for one year before he returned to New Zealand. He practiced general dentistry in Auckland, NZ for 5 years. Dr Lin then completed his Doctorate of Clinical Dentistry degree at the University of Otago, New Zealand in 2007. Prior to relocating to Sydney.
Dr Lin has published numerous papers in dental journals and is a prominent clinical educator in Australia and New Zealand. He is very active in continuing education programs, with a particular interest in hands-on courses dealing with diagnosis and treatment planning, root canal therapy, problem solving and complication management. Dr Lin is a Dentsply Maillefer key opinion leader and certified trainer, lecturing general dentist for the latest endodontic equipment and technique. He believes in training general dentists with the quality skills and techniques required to provide treatment at the highest standard.
Dr Beth Kang
BDS (Hons), DClinDent (Perio), FRACDS (Perio)
Dr. Beth Kang graduated from University of Sydney with a Bachelor of Dental Surgery (Hons) in year 2000. Whilst working in private practice, she was also a Clinical Associate for the University of Sydney supervising the undergraduate students. In 2005, Beth commenced her periodontal training in Melbourne obtaining her Doctorate of Clinical Dentistry in Periodontics. After working in Canberra for a number of years, she is now based in Sydney and Wollongong at a private practice.
Beth was a surgical mentor for the Graduate diploma of implant dentistry at Charles Sturt university in 2012 and 2013. Beth is currently a visiting specialist at Westmead hospital clinically supervising the students of the Doctorate of Clinical Dentistry in Periodontics and also lectures for University of Sydney.
Beth is a Fellow of the Royal Australasian College of Dental Surgeons, Fellow of the International Team of Implantology (ITI), is part of the executive committee of Australian Society of Periodontology and is a member of ANZAP. Beth lectures both locally and in interstate on topics related to periodontics and implant dentistry. Beth has particular interests in periodontal regeneration and managing peri-implant diseases.
Dr Eric (Chien-Ting) Chen
BDS (Otago), DClinDent (Endo, Otago)
Dr Eric Chen obtained his Bachelor of Dental Surgery degree at the University of Otago, New Zealand in 2001. After working for seven years as a private general dentist, he returned to the University of Otago to pursue his passion in Endodontics and completed his Doctorate of Clinical Dentistry degree in 2011. After graduation, Dr Chen relocated to Sydney and joined the StarCare Dental Specialist Group as an associate Endodontist.
Dr Chen believes in continuing education and frequently attends conferences as well as regularly acquires updates on the most recent scientific publications to strive for evidence-based clinical excellence. He also actively contributes in seminars and lectures and have presented at numerous occasions in Sydney.
Dr Robert Santosa
Dr Robert Santosa graduated with a BDS from the University of Adelaide in 1996. He then worked in general practice in Gippsland, Victoria. In 2001 he completed a Master of Dental Science in Prosthodontics from The University of Sydney.
In 2002 he was the recipient of an ITI scholarship at the University of Florida, Gainesville. He is a executive member of Australasian Osseointegration Society (NSW Branch); a reviewer for the International Journal of Oral and Maxillofacial Implants (JOMI), and lectures widely nationally and overseas.
Dr Santosa works as a specialist prosthodontist in Sydney. He is a Fellow of the ITI and a Fellow of Pierre Fauchard Academy.
Dr Thuy Nguyen
Dr Nguyen is a registered specialist in Paediatric Dentistry and a member of the Australian Dental Association, Australasian Academy of Paediatric Dentistry, Royal Australasian College of Dental Surgeons and American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry.
She graduated with a Bachelor of Dental Science from the University of Melbourne in 2003. She worked as a general dentist in a private practice in Western Sydney and as a resident dental officer at Westmead Centre for Oral Health before commencing her specialist training in 2007. During her training Dr Nguyen worked in Sydney, Orange and Gove (Northern Territory). The research component of Dr Nguyen’s speciality training focused on the oral health of Vietnamese preschool aged children. She graduated with a Doctor of Clinical Dentistry (Paediatric Dentistry) in 2010 and commenced part-time private practice in the same year.
She is currently appointed as a Senior Registrar in Paediatric Dentistry at Westmead Centre for Oral Health and is involved in organising dental visits to special schools in metropolitan Sydney. She is also a clinical tutor and lecturer for dental students at the University of Sydney.
Her main interest areas are dental care for children with special needs and management of dental trauma. Dr Nguyen is also fluent in Vietnamese.
